What Happens in a Day?

Every day is a little different, here is our typical flow

Morning Drop Off

Enjoy the walk down our path to meet us by the tent. Educators greet each child individually, helping them feel seen and grounded. Hang your backpack and get settled!

Play and Explore

This is the heart of our day. Children follow their curiosity as they explore the land around them.

Depending on the season this might include building shelters, fairy houses or forts in the forest, navigating an obstacle course, creative play using sticks, stones or leaves.

Snack Time

After active play, we pause for nourishment. This moment provides an opportunity to rest, reconnect, and make plans for the day.

Hike, Explore & Play

The group might take a short hike to a new spot, explore a meadow or a new section of the forest. We might investigate insects, plants or animal tracks.
Each outing helps children build spatial awareness, confidence, nature skills, and a deep relationship with the land.

Owl Pick Up

End of the morning for our owls. We'll do a closing circle where we talk about our favourite parts of the morning.

Lunch (Full Day Programs)

For our full-day adventurers, we settle in for lunch and stories. After a stimulating morning outdoors, appetites tend to be big - packing extra is always a good idea!

Afternoon Adventures

We'll follow the natural rhythm of the day. Activities might include another hike to a new forest nook, building more complex structures, extended imaginative play with peers, or we might throw up some hammocks and set out some books and other calm activities like drawing or painting. These experiences build persistence, teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving - all through play.

Afternoon Pick Up

Often, we’ll set aside some time for nature journalling before gathering for our end of day. We end our day together with a closing circle sharing our favourite parts of the day and giving thanks to the forest.
